Re: Freedom of Information Act Request

Dear FOIA Officer:

Pursuant to the Freedom oflnformation Act ("FOIA"), 5 U.S.C. § 552, et. seq., as amended, we respectfully request the following documents from files maintained by the Federal Communications Commission:

  1. Any and all e-mail correspondence, between June 1, 2009 and December 31, 2010,between one or more of the following: FCC chairman Julius Genachowski, Blair Levin,Colin Crowell, Bruce Gottlieb, Rebecca Hanson, Rick Kaplan, Zachary Katz, Jen Howard or Terri Glaze, (whether sender, recipient, cc'd or bcc'd);
  2. Any and all e-mail correspondence between one or more of the following: FCC chairman Julius Genachowski, Blair Levin, Colin Crowell, Bruce Gottlieb, Rebecca Hanson, Rick Kaplan, Zachary Katz, Jen Howard or Terri Glaze, and any individual from the organization Public Knowledge (including, but not limited to, e-mails ending with @publicknowledge.org) (whether sender, recipient, cc'd or bcc'd);
  3. Any and all e-mail correspondence between one or more of the following: FCC chairman Julius Genachowski, Blair Levin, Colin Crowell, Bruce Gottlieb, Rebecca Hanson, Rick Kaplan, Zachary Katz, Jen Howard or Terri Glaze, and any individual from the organization Free Press (including, but not limited to, e-mails ending with @freepress.net) (whether sender, recipient, cc'd or bcc'd);
  4. Any and all e-mail correspondence between one or more of the following: FCC chairman Julius Genachowski, Blair Levin, Colin Crowell, Bruce Gottlieb, Rebecca Hanson, Rick Kaplan, Zachary Katz, Jen Howard or Terri Glaze, and any individual from the organization Media Matters (including, but not limited to, e-mails ending with @mediamatters.org) (whether sender, recipient, cc'd or bcc'd);
  5. Any and all e-mail correspondence between one or more of the following: FCC chairman Julius Genachowski, Blair Levin, Colin Crowell, Bruce Gottlieb, Rebecca Hanson, Rick Kaplan, Zachary Katz, Jen Howard or Terri Glaze, and Susan Crawford of the White House (whether sender, recipient, cc'd or bcc'd);
  6. Any and all e-mail correspondence between one or more of the following: FCC chairman Julius Genachowski, Blair Levin, Colin Crowell, Bruce Gottlieb, Rebecca Hanson, Rick Kaplan, Zachary Katz, Jen Howard or Terri Glaze, and Kevin Werbach of the University of Pennsylvania (whether sender, recipient, cc'd or bcc'd);
  7. Any and all e-mail correspondence between one or more of the following: FCC chairman Julius Genachowski, Blair Levin, Colin Crowell, Bruce Gottlieb, Rebecca Hanson, Rick0 Kaplan, Zachary Katz, Jen Howard or Terri Glaze, and Reid Hundt (whether sender,recipient, cc'd or bcc'd);
  8. The full schedule for Julius Genachowski since he began his chairmanship;
  9. The full schedule for Blair Levin during his tenure at the FCC;
  10. The full schedule for Colin Crowell during his tenure at the FCC;
  11. The full schedule for Zachary Katz during his tenure at the FCC;
  12. The full schedule for Jen Howard during her tenure at the FCC.

As required by FOIA, please provide redacted copies of documents if the document contains some information which is subject to a FOIA exemption. If any documents are fully withheld based on a FOIA exemption, please explain the basis of such full withholding. Please provide the documents and records in whatever form they are available, whether electronic or otherwise.

We will assume financial responsibility for all necessary charges incurred, including costs of the search and duplication of files. Please contact me in advance at (202) 739-5617 if the cost will exceed $300.

Your prompt attention to this matter is appreciated. Please contact me as soon as possible at (202) 739-5617 if you are unable to fully process and respond to this request within the twenty (20) day response period provided for by the FOIA or if you have any questions related to this request. Although we believe our response is very narrowly targeted so that a full response can be provided in the 20-day response period, if some but not all of the requested documents cannot be provided in the 20-day response period, please provide a partial response with those documents that are available.
